The Rise of Regenerative Aesthetics

Instinct Holistic Medical Spa has been serving the Bozeman community since 2011 with a thoughtful approach that blends aesthetic medicine and holistic wellness. Founded on the belief that healthy skin starts from within, the practice focuses on natural, refined results through science-backed treatments that support the body’s own healing processes.

Have you seen a shift in what clients are asking for over the years?

Yes, especially in the last year. There's been a real move toward natural, rejuvenative approaches. Clients are asking for less filler, less Botox, and more treatments that support the skin's own biology. We're seeing a pushback against the most aggressive protocols. People still want results, and they're willing to accept some downtime when it makes sense, but the overall desire is to look like themselves: rested, healthy, refined. Not "done."

What has been the most rewarding transformation you've witnessed, not just physically, but in a client's confidence?

Two come to mind. The first was an acne client who came to us with painful cystic acne and open comedones across her face and neck. Over a few years of consistent work, her skin completely changed. She rarely breaks out now, she's out of pain, and her confidence is so different from when we started. That kind of long-arc transformation is the most meaningful work we do.

The second is a hair restoration client in her 70s. We've used the Follix laser alongside a supportive protocol, and her regrowth has been remarkable. Even her hair stylist commented that her hair looks completely different. She told me it's the best money she's ever spent. Hair loss is such an underspoken issue for women. So much of our sense of identity lives in our hair, and when it starts thinning, it affects confidence in a way that's hard to describe unless you've lived it. Being able to reverse that naturally, without pharmaceuticals, has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

If someone reading this could change just one thing about her beauty routine, what would you recommend first?

Drop fragrances, across the board. Not just in skincare and perfume, but in laundry detergent, dryer sheets, garbage bags, candles, and cleaning products. "Fragrance" is one of the most unregulated terms in the cosmetic world and can include phthalates and endocrine-disrupting chemicals that affect hormones and, in turn, skin health. Eliminating fragrance is one of the single biggest changes most women can make.

A close second: drink more water. It's the simplest, most overlooked thing, and it absolutely shows up on the skin.

What are your most popular natural treatments, and why do clients love them?

Our clients love our ClearLift laser, RF microneedling, and facials, and one of the things we're known for is blending them. I don't believe you should have to give up the indulgent, nervous-system-reset experience of a facial just because you're getting a clinical treatment. A laser doesn't need to be uncomfortable to be impactful, and less is often more. Our clients come back because we hold both: the relaxing, restorative side and the real clinical outcomes. Both matter, and they work better together than apart.
